The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has adopted on May 20TH, 2011 amendments to the IMSBC Code that come in force on voluntary basis from January 1st 2012.

voluntary basis from January 1st 2012.


THE NEW REQUIREMENTS


According to IMO Resolution MSC.318(89) adopted on May 20th, 2011 amendments were adopted to the IMSBC Code
that include the following:
􀂃 Various editorial changes to the Code
􀂃 The existing schedule on “WOOD PULP PELLETS” is deleted in its entirety
􀂃 After existing schedule on “WOOD PELLETS”, a new schedule on “WOOD PRODUCTS – GENERAL” is added
􀂃 It is stated that the words “competent Authority” is replaced by the word “Administration” (in order to
further clarify the term).

DATE IN FORCE
The above amendments come in force on voluntary basis from January 1st, 2012 and become mandatory from
January 1st, 2013.
